Aqua Sphere offers a great selection of goggles for those of us who need to wear contact lenses or who need to use optics in swim goggles. If you like to wear your contact lenses, any Aqua Sphere goggles will do the job for you.
The goggles that Aqua Sphere manufacturers are designed to provide the best-fit and are either to fit below your eye socket or on top of your cheekbone. By having the goggle skirt large, it stops the feeling of having your eyes being pulled out from their eye socket. This makes you more comfortable and you will get the best out of your swim.
If you choose not to wear contact lenses, there are a few other options. One option is purchasing Press-On Optics. This is a little different than a true corrective lens as it is a press on that sticks to the inside of the goggle lenses. Your options are limited as to what goggle you can use as this type of corrective lens is only available for the Seal Mask, Kaiman and Kaiman Lady goggle and the Seal Kid Mask. The Press-On Optics are available for near-sided and far-sided people. They are easy to apply as they are in a sheet and have cut-outs in which you then press them on the inside of the goggles.
Another option, if you are near-sided, the Eagle goggles offer pop-in optics. The Eagle won a European Award as the best new product, when it was introduced a few years ago. This goggle has universal interchangeable optics that range from a -1.5 to a - 6.0. The lenses are curved to give you a 180-degree peripheral vision. It provides you with all the benefits and features as a traditional goggle but designed in mind with someone who needs to wear contact lenses. Currently the optics only come in a clear lens and still provide 100% UV/UVA protection.
There are rumors that Aqua Sphere is currently looking into manufacturing a tint and mirror lens with corrected vision as well. We can only hope this is true because this would be great for those of us who love to swim outdoors.
